The Norwegian capital is a unique city, offering culture, entertainment and vibrant natural beauty. It has a beach, mountains, and an urban area, perfect for a range of family plans, especially with children! In addition, you can travel to the various cities and towns close to Oslo, thanks to the country's excellent transport network. Come and discover Oslo in spring. You'll be simply amazed!
This is one of the most touristy destinations, and for good reason. Norwegians long know that spring comes when the chilly temperatures start to rise on the thermometer. Therefore, one of the most symbolic places in Oslo to celebrate the arrival of this beautiful season of the year is in the fjord.
The Oslo Fjord is perfect for hiking and contemplating the natural world at its most outstanding. It is also ideal if you want to embark on a cruise on its waters and enjoy an experience that will stay with you for years to come. Moreover, if you like adventure, take advantage of the opportunity to rent a boat. And besides this, in the Oslo Fjord, you can also practice scuba diving, an unforgettable experience to boast about to your loved ones!
If you are staying in the area, you must incorporate a visit to the fascinating places surrounding the Oslo Fjord. Like most capital cities, it developed in a strategic location that will allow you to visit other towns and get away from the city. From the fjord, you can reach Kyststien at Svartskog, or take a early spring dip at the Breivoll beach at Nesset.
It is also possible to visit the famous Akershus Fortress. This is a military complex of fortifications that served as a castle during the Middle Ages, but today, it houses some military buildings and the Resistance and Armed Forces museums.
Another perfect springtime plan in Oslo is a trip to Tusenfryd - get ready for a fun-filled day! At Tusenfryd, everyone in the family will find something interesting to do. From grabbing a coffee, ice cream, or a delicious burger to adventuring with Thor, the God of Thunder, searching for his lost hammer, Mjölnir.

At Tusenfryd, we want everyone to experience a day full of fun, laughter, and high doses of intensity and adrenaline. But this all depends on the type of attraction you are looking for. If you want something quieter and more sedate, then the Western-Expressen or Eventyrløypen ride are ideal.
For the little ones in the family, there are attractions such as the Fire Station Garage, Finkarusellen, or HuriHuri. Older kids and adults in turn can confront their fears on the SuperSplash, SpinSpider, SkyCoaster, or ThunderCoaster - and there are many more rides to discover, all with different levels of intensity and truly something for everyone!
You simply cannot leave Oslo without visiting Frogner Park, the largest park in the city and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country. Frogner Park extends over 45 sprawling hectares, where you can get in touch with nature and unwind. And if you want to be amazed, you must explore Vigeland Park, inside Frogner. In Vigeland, you will find around 200 different sculptures and a beautiful monumental fountain.
If you are traveling through Oslo and want to learn more about one of the most iconic places of the Norwegian capital and the emblematic symbol of its illustrious history, then be sure to check out the Royal Palace. The building is located in Bellevue, in an elevated area, and at one end of Karl Johans, the busiest street in the city.
Guided tours will introduce you to some of the most historically significant rooms in the building along with the Council and Banqueting Halls. The tour includes a stop at the King Haakon VII suite, the most beautiful guest room in the Royal Palace. In addition, there is an annual art exhibition where visitors can attend.
One of the various museums you can visit in Oslo is the Vigeland-Musee. This famous museum dates back to 1919 when the sculptor Gustav Vigeland decided to donate his works to the Municipality of Oslo. In return for this proposal, Vigeland asked for an artist's studio to be converted into a museum in the future.
Today you can even visit the famous sculptor's room on the museum's third floor. Vigeland was a versatile artist who not only dedicated himself to sculpture but also to painting, woodcuts, photography, and sketches. You can see a good proportion of his works, some letters, and his library in his museum.
North of the museum lies the famous Vigeland Park, where you can view the artist's most significant sculptures.
